K. The Insurance Committee continues to explore eligibility options for future benefit<br />

plans and questions of church participation.<br />

L. Participants enrolled in the <strong>Conference</strong> health and life insurance plans may continue<br />

to be enrolled in the <strong>Conference</strong> benefits as long as they are Episcopally appointed,<br />

employed as lay staff, meet the qualifications of Continuation as defined in Section G<br />

above, and meet the required eligibility rules and regulations.<br />

VI. Historically, the Insurance Committee has developed rates based on maximum actuarially<br />

projected claims. The Insurance Committee may use funds in excess of the plan’s operational<br />

needs to fund post retirement benefits.<br />

VII. The Insurance Committee strives diligently to present the best possible health and<br />

life insurance coverage available to the North Carolina Annual <strong>Conference</strong>. Careful<br />

consideration is given to benefits and rates that are proposed each year.<br />

Report A - General Information<br />

I. We recommend special appropriations for the following persons in the indicated amounts:<br />

A. To be paid by the General Board of Pension and Health Benefits:<br />

Ministers:<br />

1. Howard M. Wilkinson, an amount equal to two years of credit.<br />

2. Richard Arthur Lewis, an amount equal to ten years times the 1970 rate.<br />

3. Rev. Luis “Lucho” Reinoso, an amount equal to $858 per month as a missional<br />

special grant effective 7/1/08 plus health and life insurance premiums less<br />

the minimum retiree contribution. The surviving spousal missional special<br />

grant will be reduced by 25%.<br />

Surviving Spouses:<br />

1. Doris Dellinger Reynolds, build up to 20% of the denominational average
