Section V: Miscellaneous Reports 271<br />

the leadership of Rev. Bob Redmon packed backpacks for needy children in the community<br />

and had a home coming service for the home bound.<br />

The two new Faith Communities in Fayetteville for the Korean community under the capable<br />

leadership of Rev. Dr. Chang Bae Kim and in the Spout Springs area with Rev. Matthew<br />

Youngblood.<br />

Crossroads new faith community launch with Rev. Chad Pullins, is in its’ seventh (7th) year<br />

with an average worship attendance of 250 a week. They began a major capital campaign fund<br />

last October and broke ground on their facility in May of this year.<br />

The district continues God given success with the Congregational Development Team with<br />

Rev. David Gira as the chair. Working with Christ, John Wesley, Harry Hosier, Gardners,<br />

Clinton Grace, Angier, Community, Johnson Memorial, Solid Rock, Bethany, Spring Lake,<br />

Crossroads, Raeford, Cornerstone, and the two new faith communities, it is apparent of the<br />

Christ centered growth that has been experienced by each of these congregations.<br />

Rev. Jaye White, as the BRAC Mission Developer for the Fayetteville and Sanford Districts,<br />

has completed her mission and bridged the gap between the local churches and the military<br />

at Fort Bragg.<br />

The district Team of Ministries, in partnership with several churches, held very large<br />

Evangelism events that not only involved their congregations but, also their surrounding<br />

communities. Sharing the love of Jesus Christ and the way to life eternal has been the focus<br />

throughout the Fayetteville District.<br />

Greenville District<br />

The Greenville District of the North Carolina <strong>Conference</strong> celebrates what God has done in<br />

us, through us, and sometime in spite of us, in order to share the Good News of Jesus Christ<br />

during the past year. Through worship, mission, ministry, spiritual formation, hospitality,<br />

and generosity we have grown in faithfulness and spiritual fruitfulness. In an effort to<br />

hold ourselves accountability to the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the<br />

transformation of the world, we began to measure professions of faith, worship attendance,<br />

and missional giving.<br />

In 2011 churches of the Greenville District:<br />

È averaged 5,387 people in worship each week<br />

È celebrated 171 professions of faith and<br />

È 56 of our 58 churches paid 100% of their denominational missional giving<br />

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Each of these numbers represent lives transformed<br />

and relationships with God strengthened.<br />

It has been said that we get more of what we pay attention to and for that reason, 2011-<br />

<strong>2012</strong> has been a time in which we paid attention to BEING disciples of Jesus Christ and<br />

MAKING disciples of Jesus Christ. One of the ways we have sought to strengthen the<br />

discipleship of clergy has been through monthly dialogue sessions where participants reflected<br />

together theologically in hopes of discovering new insights, sharing enduring convictions,
