A North-Schleswig Baroque painted pine wood wardrobe, most likely decorated
by Johan Hinrich Brockmann between 1740-80, with flowers, foliage and
monogram of the danish noble family Rewentlow. Mid 18th century.
Provenance: The Sandbjerg Estate. The estate was from 1673 in the ownership of
the Reventlow family until 1929.
Literature: Similar wardrope is to be seen at the Danish National Museum, Copenhagen.
The shape of the cornice with two arcs in front and two above the gables
was characteristic for the region North-Schleswig. Axel Steenberg and Grith
