Herkimer Co.. X. Y. His parents. John G. and Sarah
Moshire; grandparents. Wellington and Ann Moshire. Her
grandparents. Isaac and Lucy Merriam. Children:

P. Willis, the author, her mother. Mary Byron, nee Willis,
was his cousin. Judson is in husiness in New ^ ork and
lives in Roseville. New Jersey. Children:

), horn in Stonington. Conn.. Jan. 25. 1738: married
Martha Rohinson, daughter of Edward* R. ; she died May 17,
1788 (hook 4. p. 408. Pittsfield records). Amos Rathbone,
as shown by Pittsfield records, purchased large tracts of land
in the province of Massachusetts Bay. In 1787. he joined
the Shaker Society at West Pittsfield. Mass.. hecoming an
Elder, holding that position at the time of his death. July
24, 181 7. He was a pious and good man.
Letter of Ira R. Lawson. relative to Amos Rathbone and
others who were members of the Shaker Society of West
Pittsfield. Mass.: "Friend J. C. Cooley. yours of the 16th
inst. received in due time and also the letter addressed to
the Elder. After a long time I am able to give some answers
to your questions. Amos Rathbone. died July 24.
1817. There is no record of his children living with us.
Think they all died elsewhere. Daniel, his brother, was the
father of Lucy Rathbone. who died in this Society, Oct. 5,
1 861. at the age of 75 years. Steuben Langworthy's father
name was Simon, his mother a Robins. Amos had a sister
that married Ezekiel Goodrich, she came to this Society in
its early days. Her name was L T uicr: I do not find the date
