Joseph Barber in his will, bearing- date April 14, 1779, bequeaths
are made to his son Nathaniel Barber; my grandson
Joseph Rathbone; my granddaughter Abigail YVilbour;
my granddaughter Rebecca Wilcox: my grandson. Lillibridge
Barber. Joseph was to have his legacy on attaining
the age of twenty-one years. He signed a receipt at twenty-one,
Jan. 28, 1784. Lillibridge Barber was the executor.

cousin of Commodore Perry of Lake Erie fame. Jonathan
was a revolutionary soldier and was in the battle of Bunker
Hill. During the battle his wife Elizabeth, thinking .-he
would like to locate the battle as she heard the roar of the
cannons, thought she would go and climb a haystack, thinking
