SWITS FAMILY.
Susannah Swits, was born in 1754 and died in Glenvillc.
N. Y.. at an advanced age; she married Daniel Toll, July 2,
1775. son of Simeon Toll. Henry (Hendricks) Swits.
brother of above, was born in Schenectady. N. Y. in 1762,
died unmarried Sept. 18. 1825. His house stood on the
corner of what is now White street, near State street. He
left to the next of kin two and one half morgens of land,
lying between east side of Barnett street and Cochrane Kil.
Henry Swits Conde, son of Albert Conde and Hester Toll
was his namesake. Both children of Isaac Swits. born
in May, 1720 and died April 4. 1790; married Volkie,
daughter of Hendrick Yrooman March n, 1748 or 7; she
died March 8. 1804. seven children. Brother of Abraham
born Oct. 1. 1730. Major in Revolutionary Army. (His
son Watteus served in the Revolutionary Army as Lieutenant)
son of Jacob Swits was born June 26. 1695; married
Helen DeWitt, eight children, sons of Isaac Swits, alias
"Kleyn Isaac" born Oct 5. 1642. settled in Schenectady in
1664; at burning of town by French and Indians in Feb..
1690. he and -his eldest son Cornelius, latter of Albany, N.
Y., were carried away captives to Canada, but returned the
following July, married Susanna, daughter of Simeon Groot,
eight children: son of Cornelius Clarence Swits. resident of
New /Amsterdam as early as 1639, married Arraentic Cornelissen,
killed by Indians in 165?: children all born in New
Amsterdam.
