celebrated miniature painter, at Newport. R. I.. Nov. 3. 1801.
Captain Benjamin was lost at sea; supposed while in sight of
his home harbor. The vessel was due at the time a terrible
storm was raging. The crew and vessel were never heard
of; Mary was born . 1779 and died Jan. 4, iSrS.

1. Harriet Whithorne, b. in Newport. R. I. -; in. Lieutenant
Edward Henry Courtney of West Point, .May 21. 1827. He was also a
professor in the University of Virginia, later.
2. Louisa, b. in Newport. R. I.: died April 4, r8i5, aged 10 days.

4. Edward Malabone. b. in Newport: baptised a babe June 21,
t8tt. He was a sea captain; he died at St. Louis. Mo.

Conn. He was born there. From Stonington they removed
to Stephentown. N. V.. in 1784. He died July 24. 1827,
she died July 15, 1825. Children:
