year; his mother died Feb. 17. 18 14. She was a daughter
of James and Mary Law. His father was the second child
of John and Sarah (Moore) Rich; she was born in 1786;
died April 17, 1841. He was born in 1783; died Sept. 12,
1872. He was the son of Jacob and Mary (Craft) Rich,
he came from England, about 1750 and died in Fayette Co.,
Pa. in 1795. Eben Law Rich was first married to Julia A.
Higley. July 24, 1867; died Dec. II, 1877 in Cleveland,
Ohio. They had two children, viz:
1. Herbert, b. June 5. 1870.
2. Nellie, b. July 2. 1872: d. July 3. 1872.

Ind.; buried in same place. After raising a large family,
took in five (5) little orphans, and raised them (one pair of
twins among them): they seemed to bestow as much care, if
not love as on their own family. Children:
