Falkirk Council New Build Programme - Completed Projects Sawers Avenue, Denny This site formed part of the Falkirk Council New Build Programme and delivered 8 properties which included a mix of special/ general needs. The project secured £200,000 funding from the Scottish Government in 2009 and was completed in May 2010. Sawers Avenue, Denny Chisholm Place, Grangemouth This project involved the demolition of one block of flats compromising 21 properties. The Council has been granted planning consent to provide 12 new properties on the site to be built by the Council’s Corporate & Neighbourhood Services. The Council has also secured £300,000 funding from the Scottish Government for this, with the balance being provided predominantly through prudential borrowing by Falkirk Council. Chisholm Place, Grangemouth Carse Crescent, Lauriston This site formed part of the Falkirk Council New Build Programme and has delivered 4 properties - 2 special needs and 2 general needs. The project secured £100,000 funding from the Scottish Government and was completed in July 2010. Carse Crescent, Lauriston Falkirk Council New Build Programme - Projects on Site Chequers, Hallglen This site is in Falkirk Council ownership and forms part of the Council’s New Build Programme. The redevelopment of the cleared site and adjacent land will provide a mix of 18 properties for special/ general needs. Falkirk Council has secured £450,000 funding from the Scottish Government for the project and the balance will be provided by Falkirk Council predominantly through prudential borrowing. Shiel Gardens, Langlees This project is currently on site and will provide 20 properties. Planning consent was granted on 24th March 2010 and a construction contract was awarded to JB Bennett Ltd on 29th March 2010. The project has secured £500,000 funding from the Scottish Government and the balance of £1.2m will be predominantly provided through prudential borrowing by Falkirk Council. Falkirk Council has secured £250,000 funding from the Scottish Government and the remaining balance of £1.175m is being predominantly funded through prudential borrowing.
