in April 1995, and the IA ROD (IAROD) was signed in March 1994. The RI sites ROD was signed in<br />
January 1997, and addressed cleanup of a range of sites for which full RI/FSs were deemed necessary.<br />
In addition to the RI, NoA, and IA sites RODs, two operable units at <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Ord</strong> (OU 1, the FAAF Fire Drill<br />
Area (FDA), and OU 2, the <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Ord</strong> Landfills; Plate 2) were also supported by their own RODs and<br />
follow individual paths to the final ROD for <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Ord</strong>. The ROD for OU 1 was signed in September 1995<br />
and the OU 2 ROD was signed in August 1994.<br />
Three separate RODs were prepared to address MR sites. The Army has been investigating and cleaning<br />
up MEC at the former <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Ord</strong> since 1993. Information gained from these actions formed the basis for<br />
developing RI/FSs that supported these RODs. A NoA MR ROD was signed in September 2002 for the<br />
Track 0 areas. Also in 2002, an IA MR ROD was signed in for Ranges 43-48, Range 30A, and <strong>Site</strong><br />
<strong>Ord</strong>nance and Explosives (OE)-16. A No Further Action ROD for Track 1 sites and ecological<br />
monitoring at <strong>Site</strong> 3 (MRS-22) was signed in April 2005. RODs will also be prepared for Track 2 and<br />
Track 3 sites.<br />
3.5 Basis for Action<br />
The basis for the action is discussed on a site-by-site basis in Sections 5.0 through 18.0.<br />
