What is the use even of seeing the futility of<br />

Spiritism, <strong>and</strong> of being delivered from <strong>its</strong> toils,<br />

still are so blind <strong>and</strong> deaf to our own interests as<br />

not to believe the word of Christ Jesus? Once we<br />

enroll ourselves under the banner of the Cross we<br />

find ourselves rich "beyond all the dreams of<br />

avarice," <strong>and</strong> the much-dreaded darkness of the<br />

future is<br />

replaced by the radiance of an eternity of<br />

Christianity Always First<br />

Let a man sit down <strong>and</strong> count the cost of rejecting<br />

Christianity, supposing it for a moment to be (as<br />

it is) a true belief, <strong>and</strong> he will be appalled at his<br />

folly. Let a man even take everything<br />

for the<br />

moment as equally true Christianity, Theosophy,<br />

Christian Science, <strong>Modern</strong>ism, <strong>and</strong> Spiritism, listen<br />

to all they respectively offer to man, <strong>and</strong> make his<br />

choice Christianity will then be necessarily first,<br />

all the time. And when he inquires for the respective<br />

guarantees behind Christianity, Theosophy, Christian<br />

Science, <strong>Modern</strong>ism, <strong>and</strong> Spiritism, for the fulfilment<br />

of their promises, he will find that the only one that<br />

can produce, even a professed Divine assurance of<br />

their fulfilment, is the Christian faith.<br />

And lastly, if he asks for the evidence of the<br />

" How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation?"<br />
