REPORTS OF AIRCRAFT ACCIDENTS
The items under the above title in tho May, 1928, and January and
March, 1929, numbers of Toms AND PEI~~ONNEL are hereby aniended to
provide for the following:
1. Reports for accidents which occur as follow8 will be ~nad~ both
the official in charge of the Htation at tho point of departure of the pllLnc
and of thc station at the point nearcst the accident:
(a) Whrn accidents occur on tho civil airwaya.
(6) U‘hrn accidrrits occur off thc civil airways and dcparturr
from a point on tho civil airways.
2. The reports made by the ofiicial at tho point of departure will cond
hin the following information:
(a) A full account of thc wcathclr Hervice furnished before departure.
(b) The wcathcr conditions at thc point of departure.
(c) If practicable, dcvelopnicnts in conditions during tho pcriod of
the flight.
3. The report8 made by the oflicinl at thr point near(iHt the sc(’110 of
the accident will contain the following inforniation :
(a) An account, intcrpolatrd if necessary, of conditions in the vicinity
of tho accident at tho tirno of ocvurwncc.
(b) An account of conditiona that are ltnown to hnve occurred during
the period of flight.
(c) Any cornnients by the pilot, pawngers, or othcrs regarding the
weather eonditionH &H reported prior to the flight, as forccaHtfor tho flight,
and as experienced in, the fight.
4. Rrports rn to mcirknts occurring in purcdy local flying, or thoso in
which both departure and nccitlcnt occur off tlie civil airwaycl, will be
