Hindwing rather broad, tip moderately rounded; rather bright<br />

tawny purple, along termen becoming pale ochreous spotted with<br />

tawny purple, spots interconnected but small. Cilia pale ochreous,<br />

strewn with tawny.<br />

Male genitalia: Tegumen + vinculum annular, less broad than in<br />

subochraceella. Uncus longer, each half abruptly narrowed beyond<br />

middle, top rounded-clavate, finely granulate, inwardly flattened.<br />

Valva Avith a shorter cucullus; costa forming a short, serrulate blade<br />

with another triangular blade below that, directed inwardly.<br />

Aedeagus slender, rather long.<br />

Material examined: Luzon, Benguet Subprov., Klondyke, 800 ft.,<br />

6.IV.1912 (A.E. Wileman), 1 cf, holotype, genit. slide 5673 (Rothschild<br />

bequest, BM).<br />

Very similar to H. subochraceella (Walsingham) , but with distinctly<br />

colored hght purple hindwings, narrower forewings and<br />

different genitalia.<br />

Haplotinea hemilampra, new species<br />

Male, 12 mm. Head white, vertex, orbits, and face suffused with<br />

grey. Antenna with flagellum normal, not thickened; white touched<br />

with ochreous (in cross-cut circular), scape short, cylindrical. Palpus<br />

fuscous. Thorax fuscous with a strong purple gloss. Abdomen<br />

fuscous.<br />

Forewing ovate-sublanceolate, costa gently curved, apex pointed,<br />

termen rounded, obhque. Glossy light tawny fuscous, costal half of<br />

wing evenly suffused ^\ith dark fuscous purple. Ciha fuscous, dusted<br />

with darker fuscous.<br />

Hindwing dark fuscous with a distinct coppery hue; costa with a<br />

depressed patch of dense whitish scales between margin and cell.<br />

Cilia fuscous with darker suffused basal half and a pale basal hne.<br />

Male genitaUa: Tegumen + vinculum annular, rather broad, vinculum<br />

with a deep triangular excision. Valva almost quadrate,<br />

cucullus angle slightly prominent and rounded, costa narrowly sclerotized,<br />

with an inwards-turned apical pointed process. Anellus + juxta<br />

very small, shaped as small triangles flanking aedeagus. Uncus lobes<br />

long, moderately thickened in middle, top forming a slender strong<br />

process. Aedeagus short.<br />

Material exainined: Luzon, Benguet, Klondyke, 800 ft., 23.IV.1912<br />

(A.E. Wileman), 1 d^, genit. slide 5678, holotype (Rothschild bequest,<br />

BM).<br />

AUied to the preceding and to Haplotinea nestoria (Me3rrick) (fig.<br />

783), distinct from the latter by not dilated antenna and from the<br />

former by white head and antenna and differently colored forewings.
