Universal machine taps
metric ISO thread DIN 13, for through holes
UNI
Universal taps are optimised for use with both conventional machines and modern CNC machines. The
universal cutting geometry for use in various materials. The special geometry with a longer thread portion
makes tapping in different materials a reliable process. Ideally the universal taps are clamped in a synchro
chuck, though clamping in a shim plate type of chuck is also possible. The longest tool life is reached with
a synchro chuck.
Advantages of universal taps:
•universal use in various materials, for the highest demands on variability
•reduction of the tool costs together with the variant diversity and no capital more than is necessary is
tied down
•innovative cutting and clamping geometry together with the preparation for cutting ensure shorter cycle
times because of the higher cutting speeds
•low risk of confusion
Execution: structural dimensions according to DIN 371 = reinforced shaft (up to M 10), DIN 376 = overrun
shaft (from M 12).
