Back-sawing of saw bands
When moving a saw band into the material, the extremely sharp cutting edges of a saw band are specifically rounded for an extended tool life.
Procedure:
1. Select the band velocity depending on the individual material.
2. Reduction of the feed rate (contact pressure) to approx. 20-25 % on the first cut, until the full penetration of the saw band. Afterwards, increase the feed rate.
Be aware of smooth chip removal.
3. Progressively increase the feed rate in the course of several cuts (up to 300-400 cm²).
