Heavy-duty face milling head 45°
Shorter production times call for a high degree of precision from the tools being used and for high process
reliability. Conventional tools cannot always assure this. The heavy-duty face milling head is a tool for the
cost-effective machining of steel and cast materials. The indexable insert can be used on both sides and
has a total of 16 cutting edges. The cutting edges make considerable higher feed rates possible despite the
lower axial delivery values of max. 3 mm (4 mm) – for an insert size of 12.7 mm (16 mm) and in this way
contribute significantly to the productivity increases. Because the axial forces are low, the largest possible
flatness of the machined surfaces is assured for low surface roughness values (Rz < 15 μm), even for
roughing operations.
Advantages:
•indexable insert with 16 cutting edges (eight cutting edges on each side)
•indexable insert for use both as a roughing and a finishing insert
•high tooth feed and feed rates are possible
•high economic efficiency from the many cutting edges
