Western Rivers e-AtoN Technology Demonstration<br />

Mission Need: Understand the benefits and demands posed by eNav technology to inform the development of<br />

requirements needed to support maritime security, safety, and mobility in the Western Rivers.<br />

<strong>Project</strong> Objectives:<br />

• Provide the <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> and Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and other<br />

partners with experience in distributing navigation information to users via<br />

the Automatic Identification System (AIS).<br />

• Identify <strong>Coast</strong> <strong>Guard</strong> requirements to successfully operate the eNav system:<br />

agreements, policy changes, necessary infrastructure, the level of effort<br />

needed to operate, and the user acceptance challenges.<br />
