Independent Assessment of OPTIDE and Road Ahead<br />

Mission Need: Real-time, risk-based tool to target fishing vessels in violation of fishing regulations.<br />

<strong>Project</strong> Objectives:<br />

• Review Operational and Tactical Information Driving Enforcement<br />

(OPTIDE) tool currently being used by CG District One.<br />

• Review the Decision OPTIDE (DeOPTIDE) and Rule Induction Tactical<br />

Information Driving Enforcement (RIPTIDE) alternative technical<br />

approaches.<br />

• Verify the intended use/needs and requirements for the tool.<br />

• Determine if the tool concept and data used are appropriate, sound, and<br />

suitable for meeting the requirements.<br />

• Determine if the design, implementation, and results of the tool allow the<br />

requirements to be met.<br />

• Determine approach and costs to implement.<br />
