Navigation 2025 Prototype Implementation<br />

Mission Need: A design, implementation, and analysis of a new 21 st Century Aids to Navigation System (one that is<br />

heavily based on electronic navigation capabilities and less on physical aids) within two U.S. ports/<br />

waterways.<br />

<strong>Project</strong> Objectives:<br />

• Conduct initial business case for a spatial waterways design capability per<br />

System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.<br />

• Analyze alternatives for modernized Western Rivers waterway designs.<br />

• Prepare for Design Phase of Navigation 2025 – Prototype Implementation<br />

project.<br />
