Navigation 2025 Prototype Implementation
Mission Need: A design, implementation, and analysis of a new 21 st Century Aids to Navigation System (one that is
heavily based on electronic navigation capabilities and less on physical aids) within two U.S. ports/
waterways.
Project Objectives:
• Conduct initial business case for a spatial waterways design capability per
System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process.
• Analyze alternatives for modernized Western Rivers waterway designs.
• Prepare for Design Phase of Navigation 2025 – Prototype Implementation
project.
