Arctic Operations Support 2013
Mission Need: A scientific analysis (R&D) on the effects of the Arctic environment on CG mission execution.
Project Objectives:
• Establish clear Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E)
objectives for supporting CG missions in the Arctic.
• Document and analyze Oil in Ice Search, Detect and Recover exercise
conducted during Arctic Shield 2013 and make recommendations for
improving CG capabilities and Mission effectiveness.
• Demonstrate with Commercial/Government Off The Shelf (COTS/GOTS)
technologies the ability to recover spilled oil in Arctic ice.
