Instant dissemination of market and commercial information.
Constant education on the latest developments in agro-science and post-harvest
technology.
Access to the right markets [both for farm and non-farm produce] through affordable
credit and transportation solutions.
While the agricultural universities, their research stations, the department of agriculture, its
extension services and other agencies have developed and evolved several solutions, best
practices and technologies for the use of the farming community, their dissemination on a
large scale has so far been an impossible task, given the sheer size of the country and the lack
of an universally accessible interface based dissemination mechanism until now. It is in this
old and has had linkages with rural areas and the rural populace in the region for over 160
years now. The target audience is the farmer and end-users registered with these divisions.
The project is currently being piloted at Nellikuppam in Tamilnadu State, where EID Parry
has had a historic presence, and enjoys rapport with the local populace.
Content for the portal has been custom developed, using the in-house expertise of EID Parry’s
Sugar and Farm Inputs Division and its Corporate R&D Lab, and the combined efforts of the
Tamilnadu Agricultural University, its Research Stations, the Tamilnadu University for
