200 Part Four: Summing-up the EU-INDIA Cross-Cultural Innovation Network In this final chapter of the two Volumes of the EU-INDIA Cross-Cultural Innovation Network:, we are drawing together our experiences in putting the concept of cross-cultural collaboration into practice. The report sums up these experiences in the format of Lessons Learned and Principles of Sustainable Collaboration. The chapter ends with our proposal to set up the Virtual Institute for Cross-Cultural Innovation.
201 CHAPTER EIGHT Collaborations in Cross-Cultural Research and Development Karamjit S Gill, Brighton, UK Ashok Jain, New Delhi, India The general approach of the EU-India Cross-Cultural Innovation Network project has been based on the hypothesis that knowledge drives economic and entrepreneurial innovations, which in turn drive innovations in new forms of socio-economic and technological innovations. This approach is guided by the human-centred tradition which is rooted in the methodologies of action research and cross-cultural communication. Within this approach our view of synergetic innovation is about building symbiotic relationships between human capabilities and machine capacities. In this final paper of the two Volumes of Project Outcomes, we are drawing together our experiences in putting this concept into practice. The report sums up these experiences in the format of Lessons Learned and Principles of Sustainable Collaboration. The paper ends with our proposal to set up the Virtual Institute for Cross-Cultural Innovation.
