In consultation with <strong>the</strong> AMEP contact a suitable date, time, interpreter and venue were arranged for<br />

each visit. In general, <strong>the</strong> group was held in an AMEP facility with which clients would be familiar.<br />

Urbis Keys Young distributed information sheets (covering <strong>the</strong> nature <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> group and specific details<br />

<strong>of</strong> each group meeting) to AMEP contacts who invited suitable clients. An additional group targeting<br />

Household Formation Support clients was arranged in Sydney through St Vincent de Paul.<br />

In accordance with privacy and confidentiality practices, <strong>the</strong> EHAI/PASTT providers had <strong>the</strong> major<br />

responsibility for recruiting clients to give feedback on <strong>the</strong>ir services. The following criteria enabled <strong>the</strong><br />

agencies to recruit suitable candidates and to ensure a mix <strong>of</strong> client ethnicity.<br />

Service providers were asked to find clients who met <strong>the</strong> following criteria:<br />

had arrived under <strong>the</strong> visa categories Refugee (sub class 200, 201, 203, 204), Special<br />

<strong>Humanitarian</strong> Program (sub class 202) and Temporary Protection visas (sub class PV or TPV),<br />

and longer term residents with refugee like backgrounds; and<br />

had accessed Commonwealth funded services for survivors <strong>of</strong> torture and trauma, (namely <strong>the</strong><br />

short term counselling provided under EHAI and / or long term counselling provided under<br />

PASTT); or<br />

had not accessed EHAI or PASTT services.<br />
