<strong>IHSS</strong> service providers<br />

Prior to Urbis Keys Young’s contact with <strong>IHSS</strong> Service Providers, DIMIA notified all services <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

variety <strong>of</strong> ways to be involved in <strong>the</strong> evaluation, explaining that some would be visited and that all<br />

could participate through telephone interviews or written submissions.<br />

A selection <strong>of</strong> services were to be visited, chosen in order to achieve a good mixture, in terms <strong>of</strong>:<br />

<strong>the</strong> range <strong>of</strong> <strong>IHSS</strong> services provided (one to several service components)<br />

<strong>the</strong> type <strong>of</strong> auspicing body (migrant service, church or o<strong>the</strong>r organisational entities)<br />

location (metropolitan, regional and rural areas)<br />

ethnicity <strong>of</strong> client base.<br />

Those selected were e-mailed and contacted by phone to introduce <strong>the</strong> evaluation and establish<br />

appropriate meeting times. Both <strong>the</strong> management and staff <strong>of</strong> each centre were invited to participate.<br />

All services were provided with <strong>the</strong> evaluation brief and question guide. The services which were not<br />

visited were encouraged to submit a written response.<br />
