Michael is leading Lean Manufacturing, European Collaborative Networks<br />
and Innovation Delivery Practitioner to the Irish SMEs. With 25 years<br />
experience developing operational solutions to a wide variety of corporate<br />
clients and regional development authorities throughout Ireland, UK and<br />
Europe.<br />
Worked extensively in Food, Furniture, Fabrication & Heavy Engineering,<br />
OSC Construction, Electronics and Steel Mills. He is also heavily involved<br />
in Renewables, particularly Anaerobic Digestion solutions from Farm Energy<br />
Crops, Municipal Biowaste and Food Processing organic to generate<br />
biogas. Michael is specialist of choice to InvestNI and EI. He is the Irish<br />
representative on ESoCENet: European Society for Collaborative Engineering<br />
Networks with a successful career in ISTE assisting Regional Development<br />
Authorities throughout EU Accession countries.<br />
Michael is a strong advocate of integrating local Universities and 3rd<br />
level colleges into his SME Collaborative Networks. Universities provide<br />
R&D facilities for SME product innovation, with the more progressive<br />
SMEs offering graduate employment in return. Institutionalising Graduate<br />
Management Teams delivers professionalism and energy to traditional family<br />
businesses. Regularly resulting in the doubling of annual turnover and<br />
increasing profitability to assure their medium term survival.<br />
Michael studied:<br />
• Chemical Engineering at QUB, Diploma in Marketing from UUJ.<br />
• Masters in Food Marketing at University College Wales, Aberystwyth<br />
• Advanced Certificate in Business Counselling at Durham University<br />
Michael has coached many SME family businesses through the Collaborative<br />
Life Cycle, maximising the Innovation and Graduate Institutionalisation<br />
potential from Triple Helix tie up with local universities. From Initial Cluster<br />
formation, through to a performing Collaborative Network imbued with the<br />
confidence and both the technical and financial capability to now tender for<br />
major projects, that previously, as individual companies would never achieve<br />
pre-selection listing.
