Experience Summary:
Malachy is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with over 20 years experience
in R&D, innovation and New Product Development (NPD). He has 4 years
experience as design engineer leading up to 6 years experience as R&D
Engineer at various European locations involving the implementation of
Operational Systems and R&D projects. In addition he also has experience
as R&D Manager in a company which manufactures Electronic Control
Systems.
• Specialisation in “Design” and supporting Innovation and R&D programs.
He has spearheaded a large R&D program resulting in the successful
designing, prototyping and worldwide launch of an electro –mechanical
device for the oil industry, which is in widespread use today throughout
the world.
• Malachy has extensive Project Management experience of Innovation,
R&D programs and live manufacturing projects with full responsibility
for budgets, allocations, spending, scheduling and direct customer
interfacing.
• He has a significant commercial experience base in evaluating “Return
on Investments”, risk assessments, budgeting, cash flow projections,
value engineering etc.
• Malachy has led many training programs of a re-value engineering
nature so as to enable communication of ideas and feedback between
“designers”, “manufacturers” and the end user /customer.
• Malachy has a proven track record of achieving results for his client
companies such as increasing productivity, reducing waste, reducing
lead time and improving efficiency.
• Undergone extensive studies in the area of “materials” and has
supported many organisations optimise materials management,
significantly reduce materials costs, released cash-flow etc using a
combination of good materials management, planning and scheduling
effectiveness, enabled with appropriate technological support.
