Ronan Gillespie established independent business development consultancy<br />

Next Step International for food and drinks sector businesses in May 2007.<br />

In addition to being a member of the Enterprise Ireland Mentor Network,<br />

Ronan is on the team of business advisers used by Dublin Institute of<br />

Technology for Enterprise Ireland’s International Selling Programme. He<br />

successfully provided consultancy to 10 Irish food companies on the Irish<br />

Exporters Association business development programme, Channel Clusters,<br />

from 2009 to 2011, which was run with leading foodservice providers Pallas<br />

Foods and La Rousse Foods.<br />

Ronan is a very strategic individual with broad business experience. He is<br />

energetic and has a reputation for delivering results. His key skills are in<br />

finding appropriate solutions through taking initiative, planning, negotiating,<br />

project management, and people and resource management.<br />

He holds a B.A. (hons.) in International Marketing & Languages from Dublin<br />

City University.<br />

Ronan’s experience includes 16 years in the international drinks business<br />

with Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, where he played a major role in the global<br />

success of Jameson Irish Whiskey, which saw a four-fold increase in brand<br />

sales, over that time period. As Regional Director Developing Markets, he<br />

had overall responsibility for sales development, profit, and the successful<br />

implementation of Jameson marketing strategy, in a number of significant<br />

markets in Europe, and throughout the Americas, Asia, Africa and Australia.<br />

While with Irish Distillers, he also worked extensively on developing<br />

Bushmills Irish Whiskey from Co. Antrim in international markets. His last<br />

role in Irish Distillers was Business Development Director (International).
