<strong>Korea</strong> Opened UP New Possibilities<br />
Samsung SDS overcame technical difficulties and accompl<strong>is</strong>hed the project<br />

Samsung SDS, global Information and Communications<br />
Technology (ICT) Service Corporation, proudly confirmed<br />
that they finalized their project of relocating OBbeer Inc.'s<br />
Internet Data Center (IDC) in China <strong>to</strong> <strong>Korea</strong>. Th<strong>is</strong> project<br />
<strong>to</strong>ok six months, starting from July <strong>to</strong> December of 2009,<br />
and during th<strong>is</strong> time there was a two month period of stabilization.<br />
Samsung SDS executed a series of process – consulting,<br />
planning, backing up data, transferring IDC, building<br />
server, s<strong>to</strong>rage, security, network – without experiencing<br />
any hindrance and also effectively used their accumulated<br />
knowledge and experience. And so Samsung SDS <strong>is</strong> able <strong>to</strong><br />
provide immaculate IDC operating service <strong>to</strong> its cus<strong>to</strong>mers.<br />
Due <strong>to</strong> IDC relocation, Samsung SDS <strong>is</strong> able <strong>to</strong> provide<br />

secure service <strong>to</strong> users of <strong>Korea</strong>n OBbeer headquarters plus<br />
40 other chains, because it al<strong>to</strong>gether extended low bandwidth<br />
found in internal systems and expedited the speed of<br />
networking between <strong>Korea</strong> and China. Also, th<strong>is</strong> project made it possible for IDC and its headquarters <strong>to</strong> be close <strong>to</strong>gether, which created<br />
a new workplace and enabled <strong>to</strong> offer a converged operating service. "The Recent accompl<strong>is</strong>hments in relocating the data center<br />
in China <strong>to</strong> Seoul were difficult due the large amount of data. I also, can imagine there would have been technical difficulties while<br />
transferring the center between borders. However, Samsung SDS achieved the relocation of IDC which <strong>is</strong> sensational and through th<strong>is</strong>,<br />
not only are we able <strong>to</strong> curb operating costs on the data center and network, but also gain benefits from Samsung SDS's fast and effective<br />
operating processor," said Park Jong Han, Information Strategy team leader of OBbeer.<br />
Moreover, "For the future ahead, we will pioneer new IDC service terri<strong>to</strong>ries with more advanced technology while increasing the<br />
effectiveness of eco-friendly technology, which will lead the trend of 'green IDC,’” said Park Kwang Young, executive direc<strong>to</strong>r from<br />
the department of ICT infrastructure of Samsung SDS.<br />

SME Networks have created a SD memory card dubbed SmartSD that provides a wide variety<br />
of applications such as security for USB data, allowing transport and credit card use. SME<br />
Networks' representative, Kim Tae-sun, made public on January 24 that the company has developed<br />
Smart SD memory cards, which <strong>is</strong> an upgraded version of the former microSD card. The<br />
SmartSD <strong>is</strong> able <strong>to</strong> protect the users' mobile devices against hackers and can also be used for mass data s<strong>to</strong>rage. SME Network’s<br />
SmartSD card represents secure and convenient solutions for many kinds of mobile devices such as smart phones and other portable<br />
devices with a microSD card slot. Th<strong>is</strong> SmartSD card contains a standard flash memory of mass s<strong>to</strong>rage capacity with full security operation.<br />
It protects sensitive company data such as network access, company information, e-mails, and other confidential material. It<br />
also enables a banking service for smart phones that allows the users <strong>to</strong> pay bills, transfer money, and access <strong>to</strong> account information<br />
