President Lee Myung Bak and Green Committee d<strong>is</strong>cuss the seven action<br />
plan for Green Growth<br />
The Presidential Committee on Green Growth <strong>is</strong> pushing<br />
through leg<strong>is</strong>lation <strong>to</strong> cut down on the country's carbon em<strong>is</strong>sions<br />
by 30 percent by 2020. Green Growth <strong>Korea</strong> unveiled its seven<br />
action plan <strong>to</strong> reduce the level of greenhouse gas em<strong>is</strong>sions and<br />
permit em<strong>is</strong>sions trading.<br />
Including President Lee Myung-bak and the Green Growth<br />
Committee, a variety of other organizations gathered in the Blue<br />
House on the February 3. To d<strong>is</strong>cus four major projects <strong>to</strong> be carried<br />
out including the seven action plan advocating green environment.<br />
Th<strong>is</strong> act involves methods <strong>to</strong> trim down carbon em<strong>is</strong>sions, support<br />
the development of 10 essential green technologies, reduce<br />
food waste and apply an eco-friendly tax system. The key technologies<br />
designed <strong>to</strong> get public <strong>to</strong> go green include energy-efficient<br />
light-emitting diodes, solar energy, a smart electricity gird,<br />
hybrid cars, nuclear reac<strong>to</strong>rs, and light-water reac<strong>to</strong>r.<br />
