Hynix Semiconductors, a company<br />
specializing in memory semiconductors<br />
such as DRAM <strong>and</strong> NAND flash, announced<br />
<strong>its</strong> decision to focus on Mobile<br />
memory instead of Main memory <strong>and</strong><br />
low voltage operation technology for a<br />
green semiconductor industry.<br />
The 1GB DDR3 DRAM is the first<br />
product that has been developed by applying<br />
the 44nm process <strong>and</strong> it boasts<br />
50% higher productivity than the current<br />
54nm process products. The '3 dimensional<br />
transistor technology' has<br />
been applied to this product allowing reduced<br />
power wastage by control of leakage<br />
currents <strong>and</strong> secured the position<br />
with the fastest operation speed in the<br />
industry. This product will be mass produced<br />
in the 3rd quarter of this year <strong>and</strong><br />
furthermore will be applied to 30nm<br />
process technology. In addition, this<br />
technology will be implemented in mass<br />
storage memory modules, mobile<br />
DRAM <strong>and</strong> graphic DRAMs by<br />
strengthening the high speed operation<br />
<strong>and</strong> low power wastage of DDR3 products.<br />
Hynix has confirmed <strong>its</strong> top technical<br />
level once again by releasing the<br />
40nm-class DDR3 products, <strong>and</strong> is provoking<br />
high anticipation to lead the<br />
DDR3 market through products differentiated<br />
by processes a generation ahead<br />
of competitors.<br />
In the NAND flash department, the<br />
mass production of 20nm-class 64GB<br />
NAND flash product has begun <strong>and</strong> is<br />
in the ramping up. Hynix states that<br />
they have again reached the leading level<br />
of technical expertise through the successful<br />
mass production of this product.<br />
Productivity has improved by 60% in relation<br />
to the current 30nm 32GB products,<br />
resulting in the best level of competition<br />
for production costs. Hynix 30nm<br />
32GB NAND flash products have been<br />
collaborated with controllers from high<br />
quality NAND flash design company<br />
Anobit, reinforcing the reliability of storage<br />
devices <strong>and</strong> reducing errors in data<br />
storage. Also the easy to access 40nmclass<br />
2GB LPDDR2 (Low Power<br />
DDR2) was unveiled to show the<br />
strengths of Hynix Semiconductors.<br />
This product is the first high capacity<br />
2GB to have undergone 40nm-class micro<br />
processes in the world, <strong>and</strong> is capable<br />
of operation under the lowest voltage<br />
of mobile products, 1.35V. The state of<br />
the art technology products showcased<br />
by Hynix displays low voltage operation<br />
capability, clearly showing Hynix as the<br />
Tech Leadership through power cost reduction<br />
<strong>and</strong> eco friendly semiconductor<br />
technology <strong>and</strong> emphasizes technology<br />
research <strong>and</strong> expansions of mass production<br />
systems following the strong position<br />
