There are no recorded exports of seaweed as whole food products from <strong>Australia</strong>.<br />

f. Historical trends<br />

S<strong>in</strong>ce 2003, the demand for seaweed imports has <strong>in</strong>creased <strong>in</strong> terms of both volume and value. The<br />

volume of seaweed imported <strong>in</strong>to <strong>Australia</strong> has <strong>in</strong>creased by almost 41% between 2003 and 2007.<br />

However, while the import volume and value have <strong>in</strong>creased, the average value of these imports has<br />

decreased slightly. Dur<strong>in</strong>g this period, the average value of imports decreased by 6%, from A$14/kg <strong>in</strong><br />
