NBL Finals Hosting Document<br />
For application in the 2007 season<br />
Preamble<br />
The NBL semi-final and finals “Finals” will be played at the home venue of the top qualifying<br />
team(s) according to Rule 7, each game being an “Event” under this document. NBL Ltd<br />
however, reserves the right to adopt other finals hosting rules with the agreement of teams<br />
involved.<br />
General<br />
The responsibility of home team(s) “Home Teams” will be the staging, management and promotion<br />
of the Event at their home venue, under the direction of NBL Ltd. Specific responsibilities<br />
of the home team and NBL Ltd are outlined in this document. For the avoidance<br />
of doubt, if the Home Team does not organize a venue of a standard acceptable to NBL Ltd,<br />
then NBLL Ltd will have the authority to either offer the hosting of the game to the other<br />
team or find another venue suitable for hosting the final (in each case at the risk and cost of<br />
the Home Team).<br />
Event Hosting Responsibilities<br />
NBL Final games are under the jurisdiction of NBL Ltd but will be the responsibility of the<br />
Host Franchise to operate the event, like a regular season home game. The Host Franchise<br />
will be responsible for the costs of operating the event and the Host Franchise will retain<br />
100% of event profits.<br />
NBL Ltd Responsibilities<br />
1. Direct and Liaise with the Host Franchise’s Event Manager;<br />
2. Ensure the Rules and <strong>Operations</strong> of Hosting an NBL Final are followed throughout the<br />
Event;<br />
3. Provide the visiting team with a share of the NBL Finals Travel Fund for travelling requirements<br />
approved by the General Manager of the NBL such as:<br />
• accommodation<br />
• travel requirements (air and road)<br />
(subject to a travel subsidy per team (covered by a small entry surcharge) for any finals<br />
team traveling away (based on regular season travel history));<br />
4. Provide Finals Officials:<br />
• Transport to the venue. Return airfares, and 1 x vehicle for referees<br />
• Accommodation.<br />
• Referee game fees and expenses<br />
Host Franchise Responsibilities<br />
1. Event Management:<br />
(a) Book the stadium. This shall include:<br />
• Venue hire including cleaning and power.<br />
• Seating banks as required.<br />
