— Reported August 15, 2009, by KTVB 7.<br />

— Lindsey McKeehan, 23, plead guilty to two counts <strong>of</strong> Felony Injury to a Child.<br />

— McKeehan along with Colby Watson, 36, and Douglas Winberry, 50, <strong>of</strong>fered the sexual<br />

services <strong>of</strong> a 15-year-old girl on Craigslist.<br />

Illinois<br />

• April 1, 2011- Chicago<br />

— <strong>Sex</strong> trafficking is a growing epidemic in Chicago<br />

— A young Chicago woman who was caught up in a sex traffic operation when she was only 16<br />

years old shared her horrific story with FOX Chicago News.<br />

— According to the National Human <strong>Trafficking</strong> Hotline, Illinois is among the top 10 states it<br />

receives the most calls from and the Department <strong>of</strong> Justice recently designated Chicago as a<br />

"high-intensity area" for sex trafficking.<br />

• February 9, 2011- Chicago<br />

— Reported on February 9, 2011, by the Chicago Tribune<br />

— Twin brothers from Dolton have pleaded guilty and were each sentenced to four years in<br />

prison for forcing young women into prostitution in the south suburbs<br />

— Tyrelle and Myrelle Lockett, 18, pleaded guilty in the Markham courthouse Tuesday to felony<br />

charges <strong>of</strong> human trafficking for forced labor or services after an undercover sting operation<br />

found that they forced young women, including one underage victim, to perform sex acts with<br />

men for money<br />

— The 17- and 18-year-old victims, who were not charged, told police that the brothers beat<br />

them and threatened them if they didn't perform the sex acts, and took all the money.<br />

— Previously Reported May 26, 2010, by Chicago Breaking News Center: Myrelle and<br />

Tyrelle were charged with trafficking in persons for forced labor or services, involuntary<br />

sexual servitude <strong>of</strong> a minor and involuntary servitude and held on $100,000 bond.<br />

• January, 2011- Joliet<br />

— Reported on February 16, 2011, by Brian Stanley <strong>of</strong> Naperville SunTimes<br />

— Police launched Operation: Room Service in January after managers and owners <strong>of</strong> several<br />

hotels contacted the police believing that their businesses were being used for prostitution<br />

— 33 people were arrested who allegedly arranged encounters with prostitutes at hotels,<br />

including a 17-year-old girl<br />

• December 30, 2010- Mount Prospect<br />

— Reported on December 30, 2010, by Paul Biasco <strong>of</strong> The Daily Herald<br />

— A Mount Prospect massage parlor owner already accused <strong>of</strong> extorting and branding his<br />

employees now has been charged with sex trafficking <strong>of</strong> children by force, among other<br />

allegations, according to a new federal indictment Thursday.<br />

— Alex A. Campbell <strong>of</strong> Glenview is accused <strong>of</strong> forcing numerous women to work at Day and<br />

Night Spa, 940 E. Northwest Hwy., in Mount Prospect, extorting their earnings, forcing them<br />

to engage in commercial sex acts and harboring them for commercial advantage.<br />

— Campbell is being held in federal custody without bond<br />

• December 13, 2010- Chicago<br />

— An undocumented "madam" was indicted on Monday after her arrest last month at a Pilsen<br />

neighborhood brothel she allegedly disguised as a massage parlor to pimp young women<br />

and girls (a 16 year old) out for prostitution.<br />

— Rubicela Montero, 39, was charged with one count each <strong>of</strong> involuntary servitude and<br />

involuntary servitude <strong>of</strong> a minor -- both Class X felonies -- and one count each <strong>of</strong> trafficking in<br />
