— Authorities have charged an Asbury Park man and two associates with endangering the<br />
welfare <strong>of</strong> a child, promoting prostitution, human trafficking for purposes <strong>of</strong> prostitution, and<br />
simple assault after holding a 17-year old Asbury Park girl here.<br />
— Charged were Lazarus Roseboro, 39, <strong>of</strong> Sewall Avenue, Asbury Park, Essence Smith, 18, <strong>of</strong><br />
Greensboro, N.C., and Shawn Johnson, 29, <strong>of</strong> Brooklyn.<br />
• March 9, 2011- Atlantic City<br />

— An Atlantic City woman is behind bars as the result <strong>of</strong> a joint investigation targeting child<br />
prostitution and human trafficking cases.<br />
— Alicia Stewart, 25, was arrested for Human <strong>Trafficking</strong> and Promoting Prostitution.<br />
— The investigation revealed that Steward was acting as a pimp for several females two <strong>of</strong><br />
which were Atlantic City High School students.<br />
• March 2, 2011- Camden<br />

— Amin Sharif was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison today for his involvement in an<br />
enterprise which operated in New Jersey and elsewhere and employed both women and<br />
minor girls as prostitutes, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced.<br />
— Sharif used the Internet to advertise the prostitutes on websites such as Craigslist. He also<br />
used websites such as MySpace and Localhookupz.com to recruit girls to work as prostitutes<br />
for him.<br />
— In addition to the prison term, Judge Rodriguez sentenced Sharif to serve 15 years <strong>of</strong><br />
supervised release. Sharif has been detained since his arrest on May 15, 2009.<br />
• February 10, 2011- Old Bridge<br />
— Reported on February 10, 2011, by New Jersey Today<br />
— Police arrested a township man who allegedly showed pornographic images to a 14-year-old<br />
boy and <strong>of</strong>fered the child money for a sexual favor<br />
— Robert MacDonald, 62, <strong>of</strong> the Laurence Harbor section <strong>of</strong> Old Bridge was arrested at his<br />
home on Feb. 9 and was charged with endangering the welfare <strong>of</strong> a child and promoting<br />
prostitution.<br />
— MacDonald is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North<br />
Brunswick. Superior Court Judge Bradley Ferencz set bail at $50,000 with the provision that<br />
the defendant have no contact with the victim and no unsupervised contact with children<br />
under the age <strong>of</strong> 16.<br />

— Jury selection has begun in the <strong>of</strong>ten delayed trial <strong>of</strong> a former firefighter Frank Venable, 56,<br />
charged with 15 counts <strong>of</strong> sexual assault, child endangerment and prostitution set to begin on<br />
Monday Jan. 31.<br />
— From 1996 through 2008, Venable sexually assaulted children between 13- and 16-years old.<br />
• November 22, 2010- Newark<br />
— Reported on November 22, 2010, by The Associated Press<br />
— A man who ran a prostitution business that operated in several New Jersey cities has been<br />
sentenced to 20 years in federal prison.<br />
— Thirty-seven-year-old Kasiem Brown <strong>of</strong> Newark had pleaded guilty to sex trafficking and<br />
conspiring to deal firearms without a license.<br />
