• July 14, 2011- Albuquerque*<br />

— Thirty-two-year old Dante Mckay is facing several charges including promoting prostitution<br />
and human trafficking.<br />
— Police say that on Tuesday, one <strong>of</strong> their undercover <strong>of</strong>ficers contacted a girl listed on the<br />
website "Backpage" and the two agreed to meet at a Northeast Albuquerque hotel for sex.<br />
— Once inside the room, the girl took nearly $200 from the plainclothes <strong>of</strong>ficers and explained<br />
what sexual activity she was willing to do. Police then took her into custody, and took her to<br />
juvenile detention because she is 17 years old.<br />

— Justin Grills was arrested for kidnapping a teenager and forcing her into prostitution.<br />
— Grills’ girlfriend, Elizabeth Gade is facing similar charges.<br />
— Grills locked the girl in a closet and she was only able to escape after Grills went to the<br />
airport.<br />

• June 30, 2011- Brooklyn<br />

— Four Brooklyn men were arrested and charged Wednesday with the sex trafficking and rape<br />
<strong>of</strong> a young New York woman who stepped forward after eight years <strong>of</strong> alleged abuse.<br />
— Damien Crooks, Darrell Dula, Jamali Brockett and his brother Jawara Brockett were all<br />
accused <strong>of</strong> raping the now 20-year-old woman and forcing her into prostitution through<br />
intimidation for an eight year period, reports CBS station WCBS.<br />
— Alleged ringleader Crooks reportedly first met the girl and raped her in a neighborhood park.<br />
The victim says she was only 13 at the time <strong>of</strong> the first assault.<br />
— Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes says the suspects intimidated her into silence, then<br />
forced her to have sex for money and repeatedly beat and raped her.<br />

months stemming from their guilty pleas last year to federal charges <strong>of</strong> sex trafficking <strong>of</strong> a<br />

— Lured from home by a sexual predator, the fifth-grader was pimped out to a series <strong>of</strong> men in<br />
a lower East Side flat.<br />
— There are very few cases that involve someone as young as 10 or 11 years old, but on the<br />
flip side, once they hit 13, there are thousands <strong>of</strong> cases like that.<br />
