— Mother <strong>of</strong> teen forced into prostitution at age 13 speaks for the first time about her daughter’s<br />

ordeal<br />

— Last spring, LaTerra's daughter ran away from home. She says up until then, her daughter<br />

was an honor student who loved hanging out with her family. Weeks before she ran away,<br />

her behavior changed.<br />

— In September, police called and told LaTerra her daughter had been found. She was living in<br />

Tacoma where police say a pimp named Shadina Rice forced her and another teen into sex.<br />

• December 27, 2010- Seattle<br />

— Reported on December 27, 2010, by Levi Pulkkinen <strong>of</strong> SeattlePI.com<br />

— A SeaTac pimp accused <strong>of</strong> keeping several teen girls as "slaves" while forcing them to sell<br />

sex has been charged with pimping children.<br />

— Prosecutors say Ronnie 28-year-old Leon Tramble, Jr. treated the girls as "slaves" while<br />

making thousands <strong>of</strong> dollars a week by exploiting them on Seattle-area streets.<br />

— Tramble is alleged to have personally sexually abused girls as young as 14 at his SeaTac<br />

home while taking the girls around the Northwest.<br />

— Several girls ranging from 14-17 have been victimized by Tramble<br />

— Charged with two counts <strong>of</strong> promoting the commercial sexual abuse <strong>of</strong> a minor, Tramble is<br />

currently jailed on $750,000 bail.<br />

• December 22, 2010- Tukwila<br />

— Reported on December 22, 2010, by Levi Pulkkinen <strong>of</strong> SeattlePI.com<br />

— Roger Lee Owens, Jr., 38, is jailed and facing child prostitution charges after drugging and<br />

pimping a 14-year old runaway in Tukwila<br />

— King County prosecutors say Owens, 38, took the girl in and forced her to work as a<br />

prostitute so he could buy cocaine and pay rent on a Tukwila motel room. He threatened her<br />

with violence, according to police, and delivered on that threat at least once.<br />

— Owens was arrested Dec. 15.<br />

— Charged with promoting the commercial sexual abuse <strong>of</strong> a minor, Owens remains jailed. He<br />

has not yet entered a plea.<br />

• December 20, 2010- Seattle<br />

— Reported on December 20, 2010, by Susan Kelleher <strong>of</strong> The Seattle Times<br />

— Within months after she started prostituting herself at age 16, “Kelsey” Collins was picked up<br />

by police in Portland, Ore., having been taken across the state line by her 36-year-old pimp.<br />

— Police convinced the girl to tell her story to a federal grand jury and she vanished without a<br />

trace within weeks <strong>of</strong> her testimony.<br />

— In Seattle, she was arrested and booked as a prostitute and put in juvenile detention. In<br />

Portland, police treated Kelsey as a runaway and victim. And at the federal level, before a<br />

grand jury, Kelsey was a star witness — until she disappeared.<br />

• December 26, 2010- Kent<br />

— Reported on December 16, 2010, by Kirotv.com<br />

— Police in Kent arrested a 28-year old man, suspected <strong>of</strong> running a child prostitution ring.<br />

— Police say the man would befriend girls, develop a personal and romantic relationship with<br />

them. He would then compel them to engage in prostitution for his personal gain.<br />

— Kent detectives have been working on the case for three months, and have been able to<br />

track the suspect's activities throughout the Northwest<br />
