• February 24, 2011- Springfield<br />
— Reported on February 24, 2011, by Terra Haff <strong>of</strong> KSPR ABC 33<br />
— The U.S. Attorney for the Western District <strong>of</strong> Missouri, announced Thursday that a Springfield<br />
man pleaded guilty in federal court to his role in a sex-trafficking conspiracy.<br />
— 45-year-old James Noel admitted to sexually abusing and torturing a young woman who was<br />
mentally delayed for her age, who is identified as FV.<br />
— Noel is subject to a sentence <strong>of</strong> up to five years in federal prison without parole, plus a fine up<br />
to $250,000 and an order <strong>of</strong> restitution.<br />
— Four other men are also accused <strong>of</strong> torturing FV and advertising her online, 43-year-old<br />
Edward Bagley, 32-year-old, Bradley Cook, 51-year-old Dennis Henry and 62-year-old<br />
Michael Stokes.<br />
— Previously reported in Kansas City on September 9, 2010 by FBI: Edward Bagley, Sr.,<br />
43, and Michael Stokes, 62, both <strong>of</strong> Lebanon, Dennis Henry, 50, <strong>of</strong> Wheatland, James Noel,<br />
44, <strong>of</strong> Springfield, and Bradley Cook, 31, <strong>of</strong> St. Louis, were charged for their roles in a<br />
commercial sex trafficking conspiracy in an 11-count indictment that was returned under seal<br />
by a grand jury.<br />
• February 15, 2011- Kansas City*<br />
— Reported on February 15, 2011, by Gwen Florio <strong>of</strong> the Missoulian<br />
— A University <strong>of</strong> Montana student who pleaded guilty to pimping underage girls on Craigslist<br />
was just looking for beer money "to fund some endless summer," his lawyer said Tuesday.<br />
— Richard Carpita, 30, was sentenced Tuesday in Missoula County District Court to 20 years in<br />
Montana State Prison, with 10 suspended, on a charge <strong>of</strong> aggravated promotion <strong>of</strong><br />
prostitution.<br />
— Money earned by the young women was split 50-50, either with Carpita or his co-defendant,<br />
Anthony Brazington, 21, who pleaded guilty last month to conspiracy to commit aggravated<br />
promotion <strong>of</strong> prostitution and conspiracy to commit promotion <strong>of</strong> prostitution. His sentencing<br />
is set for March 8.<br />

was a 16-year-old runaway<br />

— Arguing that it is immune from liability, Village Voice Media has asked a judge to dismiss a<br />
lawsuit by a teenage sex trafficking victim.<br />
— Backpage was sued in September by a teen identified only as M.A., who says she was<br />
prostituted at age 14 by an adult woman, Latasha Jewell McFarland. M.A. alleges that<br />
McFarland posted Backpage.com ads that featured M.A.'s photo and advertised her as a<br />
paid escort for sex.<br />
— Previously reported on December 1, 2010, by FOX2now.com: Latasha McFarland was<br />
sentenced to the maximum prison time under the conviction for prostitution -- 5 years.<br />
Attorney Robert Pedroli, who's trying to help the victim's family, is also suing Backpage.com<br />
for aiding and abetting in child sex trafficking.<br />
• October 6, 2010 – Chillicothe, MO*<br />
— Reported Oct. 8, 2010, by Justin Kendall <strong>of</strong> Pitch.com.<br />
— Randall Jennings was sentenced Wednesday to 21 years and ten months in federal prison<br />
for forcing five underage girls into prostitution.<br />
— The girls were forced to post ads on Craigslist and other Internet sites, and Jennings would<br />
drive them to the motel to meet the john.<br />
— The court is still considering whether to make Jennings pay each <strong>of</strong> his victims $176,530 in<br />
restitution.<br />
— Addressing the judge, Jennings said he thought the girls were college-age students.<br />
