within Four months from the Date of issue of acceptance letter, on a<br />
progressive basis. The Tenderer will be responsible for progress of work on<br />
progressive basis from the date of issue of acceptance letter. Since the<br />
progress of the work is critically related to the supply of material by the<br />
contractor, he will be responsible to supply materials as per schedule<br />
on progressive basis, so that entire work can be completed within four<br />
months progressively.<br />
(ii) Tenderer shall employ sufficient technical, non-technical manpower and<br />
labour to complete the work within specific time frame and to the entire<br />
satisfaction of Engineer in-charge.<br />
(iii) The Contractor is expected to have worked out a detailed program for<br />
execution of the work well before issue of ―Letter of Acceptance‖, by<br />
<strong>Railway</strong>. Within 15 days of the date of issue of the LOA Contractor shall<br />
commence the work by way of submitting a Detailed Time and Activity<br />
Schedule for the execution of work aiming at completing the entire work<br />
within the stipulated completion time. The schedule shall thereafter be<br />
approved by the Engineer-In-Charge normally within 5 working days.<br />
(iv) <strong>Railway</strong> reserves the right to modify the schedule while approving the same<br />
as well as at any stage during execution if situation so warrants. Once<br />
approved, in the event of any slippage from the time schedule especially<br />
when resulting into time over-run of the work the contractor shall submit<br />
revised schedule duly justifying the circumstances without any delay. The<br />
revised schedule shall be approved by the Engineer-In-Charge only when<br />
considered justified in his opinion otherwise it will attract penal action on the<br />
contractor as per provision of this contract.<br />
(v) Progress Reporting<br />
The contractor shall submit to <strong>Railway</strong>s at his own cost periodic progress<br />
reports at regular intervals regarding the state and progress of work. The<br />
details and pro-forma of the report will mutually be agreed after award of the<br />
Contract. Such reports shall be for weekly work progress (man power,<br />
equipment and work development) and monthly progress review reports. All<br />
actions as directed by <strong>Railway</strong>‘ representative to such reports shall be<br />
promptly attended to by Contractor.<br />
The Engineer-in-Charge shall also conduct monthly meetings with the<br />
contractor to assess and review the programme of works. The action<br />
proposed to progress the work as planned, difficulties, assistance required<br />
etc. shall be clearly brought out and remedial action taken. The minutes of<br />
these meetings shall be jointly signed by <strong>Railway</strong> and contractor<br />
4.19 STORES - RECEIPT & ACCOUNTAL<br />
Exchange of proper requisition and receipt shall be done on a suitable Performa<br />
between the Contractor and the <strong>Railway</strong>‘s authorized representative.<br />
The Contractor shall issue a receipt along with the demand slip for material he<br />
requires for the work and obtain receipt when any material is returned to stores.<br />
These transactions shall be done with the consignee.<br />
