VARIOFACE system cabling<br />

<strong>System</strong> cable with flat-ribbon cable<br />

connector<br />

Special lengths<br />

Pre-assembled round cables are used<br />

to connect the PLC front adapters to the<br />

corresponding VARIOFACE termination<br />

boards. Connector strips are fitted on both<br />

ends of the cables in accordance with<br />

IEC 60603-13/DIN 41651. In case of<br />

shielded cables, a cable end with a ferrule is<br />

additionally provided as a shield connection<br />

(length: Approx. 0.5 m; cable H05V-K<br />

1mm 2 , black).<br />

The order key for special lengths is<br />

defined by three features.<br />

The features in the appropriate<br />

sequence are:<br />

– Cable type<br />

– Assembly,<br />

– Length in meters.<br />

There are two order keys, one for the<br />

non-shielded round cable FLK EZ-<br />

DR/.../.../... <strong>and</strong> one for the shielded round<br />

cable FLK EZ-DR-S/.../.../.... The features<br />

necessary for clear identification of an order<br />

are described below:<br />

Cable type<br />

– The number of individual conductors of<br />

the cable is defined here.<br />

Assembly<br />

– None,<br />

the cable is not assembled at either end;<br />

– socket strip at both ends, 10-pos.,<br />

the cable is fitted at both ends with<br />

10-pos. connectors (1:1 connection);<br />

– socket strip at both ends, 14-pos.,<br />

the cable is fitted at both ends with<br />

14-pos. connectors (1:1 connection);<br />

– socket strip at both ends, 50-pos.,<br />

the cable is fitted at both ends with<br />

50-pos. connectors (1:1 connection);<br />

– socket strip at one end, 14-pos.,<br />

socket strip at one end, 16-pos.,<br />

the cable is fitted with a 14-pos.<br />

connector at one end <strong>and</strong> with a 16-pos.<br />

connector at the other (for SIMATIC S7;<br />

no 1:1 connection).<br />
