ARMOUR OF GOD

In his letter to the church at Ephesus Paul points to her high responsibility, her special place in the plan of God. She has been called to victorious life in her risen Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, victorious life in the spiritual warfare against invisible and perilous powers of Satan, continuously opposing her on her way to perfection.

fight men in soul, spirit, and body. This is a spiritual battle of spirit
against spirit, of spirit against the Spirit of God, the spirit of the antichrist
against the Spirit of Christ. This battle is being fought at a
thousand fronts, in all realms, and there is nothing and nobody
escaping this battle.
Jesus Christ - and this is a sure thing - is Victor in the battle.
God has raised Christ from the dead' and set Him at His own right
hand in the heavenly places, far above all (Satanic) principality, and
power, and might, and dominion, and every name' (Eph. 1 : 20-21).
We also, children of God, must occupy this place. He' hath raised us
up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ
Jesus' (Eph. 2 : 6).
The place which Jesus would prepare for us ( John 14 : 3) is not
a place of rest without any further ado, but a place in His throne as a
co-ruler. Originally God destined us as people to have dominion
(Gen. 1 : 26). Jesus, the great Healer and Renewer of all things,
brings us back to that original place, if we are in Him. 'And if
children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs (of a throne) with
Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified
together' (partaking in His government) (Rom. 8 : 17).
If Jesus had not set us free (Gal. 5 : 1) and had not made us
sons of God, we would have remained slaves ( of sin), excluded from
this position in the throne. ' ... The heir, as long as he is a child,
differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all ... even so
we, when we were children were in bondage under the elements of
the world. But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent
forth His Son, made of woman, made under the law, to redeem them
that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son
into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more
a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God, through Christ'
(Gal. 4: 1-7). We are heirs of the power of God and joint-heirs of
Christ's Kingdom, in which we have obtained a place of authority.
'Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?' (1 Cor. 6 : 2).
'Know ye not that we shall judge angels?' (1 Cor.6: 3).
Satan exercises his rule and fights his battle in 'the heavenly
places', because he knows that these 'heavenly places' are the realm
of dominion of Christ and his joint-heirs. It is evident that Satan
