urning bush, the pentecostal fire, was what Moses needed to
become an instrument of God. He was freed from his own will, and
found himself committing to do the will of God. God promised
Moses the power to fulfill His will. Then Moses became useful in
leading his people to freedom.
Paul writes to the Ephesians with strong and emphatic words
which come beyond the heads of his churchmembers to you and me:
'Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might' (Eph. 6 : 10).
Isaiah says: 'Strengthen ye the weak hands and confirm the feeble
knees. Say to them that are of a fearful heart be strong, fear not'
(Isa. 35 : 3-4). Be strong in the Lord: 'Blessed is the man whose
strength is in Thee' (Ps. 84 : 7).
This is not a vague suggestion, but a command of God: stand in
His power! We must not draw upon our possibilities, but upon His.
We must not adhere to our limited power, but to His unlimited
power. Just as we can avail ourselves of energy that the power
station offers, we can find our strength in His power, provided our
connection is in order. I have as much power as Jesus has, and as
much as He IS power. I am as strong as the strength of His might, no
more, no less. His strength is my strength.
Avail yourself of the huge power of the Kingdom. This power is
going to help and serve and support you. In surrendering to Jesus, we
become united to Him, the Sovereign Lord of creation, and we may
freely draw upon the great power which is in Him and in His
creation. We must learn to become what we are in Christ and take
what He has prepared for us.
'That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory,
may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the
knowledge of Him; the eyes of your understanding being enlightened;
that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the
riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints and what is the
exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according
to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ,
when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right
hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power,
and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in
this world, but also in that which is to come' (Eph. 1 : 17-21).
This power is especially given to us to be used in the battle
against the forces of Satan. It is sufficient. In his epistle to the
