Pushrods are that cr<strong>it</strong>ical connection between the camshaft and<br />
the rocker arms. These seemingly innocuous parts play a very<br />
important role in the <strong>com</strong>bustion process. That’s why GM<br />
Performance Parts pushrods are designed for heavy-duty street<br />
and <strong>com</strong>pet<strong>it</strong>ion applications. Two materials are used: 1010<br />
mild steel for high-performance street cars, power boats, and<br />
lim<strong>it</strong>ed <strong>com</strong>pet<strong>it</strong>ion applications, and 4130 chrome moly steel for<br />
maximum-performance racing engines. GM Performance Parts<br />
pushrods are case-hardened for use w<strong>it</strong>h pushrod guideplates.<br />
Pushrods are available in standard and 0.100-inch extended<br />
lengths. The longer pushrods can be used to restore correct<br />
valvetrain geometry when using a high-lift camshaft w<strong>it</strong>h a small<br />
base circle. They are also re<strong>com</strong>mended when longer-than-stock<br />
valves are installed.<br />
