Intake manifolds distribute the air/fuel mixture to the appropriate<br />

cylinders. Intake manifold design is geared toward the end usage,<br />

whether that is a street performance engine or an all-out <strong>com</strong>pet<strong>it</strong>ion<br />

manifolds means there is an ideal manifold for your every need. There<br />

are cast-iron and aluminum intake manifolds for carbureted and fuel<br />

injected applications. GM Performance Parts intake manifolds were<br />

NOTE: The exhaust manifold from 1996-and-newer pickup<br />

trucks w<strong>it</strong>h RPO L31 350 engine, P/N 12557828, is drilled<br />

and tapped to accept an EGR tube. EGR pipe P/N 10220275<br />

can be used w<strong>it</strong>h EGR Valve P/N 17113457 and gasket P/N<br />

12337972. This manifold is primarily intended for use w<strong>it</strong>h<br />

Vortec heads on pre-1996 engine blocks. 1995 and earlier<br />

blocks have thermostat bypass passage from the block<br />

directly to the water pump. If manifold is used on 1996 and<br />

later engines (which do not have the bypass in the block),<br />

you must run a coolant bypass line from the manifold to<br />

the 5/8" hose nipple on the water pump (passenger's side).<br />

Suggested routing is from the 3/8 NPSF boss on manifold to<br />

the water pump.<br />
