COMMENDATION<br />

Each of the entities examined, including the volunteer forces, is to be commended for their<br />

dedication and professionalism in serving the public. The citizens of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Bernardino</strong> County can<br />

take pride in the preparation and skill that the County has achieved to respond to disasters. More<br />

importantly, they can take comfort in the capacity of the County to respond and rescue. They are<br />

equipped and ready to assist.<br />

RECOMMENDATIONS<br />

12-24 All cities and towns, not currently utilizing the available federal resources are<br />

encouraged to evaluate the use of CERT trailers and the benefits to their citizens<br />

to enhance their response in a disaster management. (Finding 1)<br />

12-25 The County use all due diligence to hire a qualified full-time Emergency Manager<br />

to handle the duties of emergency management to ensure that <strong>San</strong> <strong>Bernardino</strong><br />

County remains ready in the critical arena of Disaster Preparedness. (Finding 2)<br />

12-26 The County consider a revision to their homepage to become more user-friendly<br />

to the average citizen seeking to obtain Emergency Planning Documents,<br />

including the Family Disaster Plan and other valuable guides and critical<br />

information. (Finding 3)<br />
