It is interesting that the contribution from the Carbón facility increased by about 65%<br />

when the synthesized approach was used. The REMSAD model was run with the lower<br />

Carbón SO 2 emission rate of 152,000 tons/yr, which is 63% of the upper estimate of 241,000<br />

tons/yr, so this adjustment effectively produces the concentration estimates that would have<br />

resulted from using the higher rate. (See Section 4.3 for a discussion of estimates of Carbón<br />

plant emissions estimates.)<br />
