Caroline Newkirk<br />

Caroline Newkirk joined DREAM, Inc. in 2008 as Mississippi’s Statewide <strong>Underage</strong> <strong>Drinking</strong> Prevention Coordinator.<br />

She is a resource to the Strategic Prevention Framework Statewide Incentive Grant subgrantees in the development<br />

and implementation of programs targeting UAD. She also conducts training workshops on the prevention<br />

of UAD. She is a co-chair of Mississippians Advocating Against <strong>Underage</strong> <strong>Drinking</strong>. Her master’s degree is from the<br />

University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a member of the 2010 NLC Leadership Institute Class.<br />

Michelle Nienhius<br />

Michelle Nienhius is a prevention consultant for the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse<br />

Services. She plans and implements statewide changes in prevention and oversees quality assurance of prevention<br />

deliverables from 33 county agencies in the State. She trains prevention professionals on the concepts and<br />

strategies generated by the Governor’s Council. She is the State representative to the National Prevention Network,<br />

the coordinator for the State’s EUDL grant, and the Project Director of the State Epidemiology Outcomes.<br />

Karolyn Nunnallee<br />

Karolyn Nunnallee has presented on personal achievement and overcoming tragedy throughout the United States,<br />

Puerto Rico, and Australia for 35 years. She served as National President of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and<br />

has received its Golden Achievement Award. She is a consultant for UDETC in Policy and Media <strong>Training</strong> and coordinates<br />

Victim Impact Panels for IDEA on the hazards of texting, phoning, alcohol and drug use while driving. Her<br />

B.S. is from Birmingham Southern College, and her M.S. is from Florida State University.<br />

Julie Nussbaum<br />

Julie Nussbaum joined SADD in October 2003. As the SADD National Director of Prevention, Ms. Nussbaum is responsible<br />

for incorporating prevention strategies into all SADD programming through environmental strategies and<br />

youth development approaches. As the Massachusetts State Coordinator, she oversees the Massachusetts SADD<br />

program and serves as an agent to deliver youth safety programming targeting underage drinking, other drug use,<br />

impaired driving, traffic safety, and healthy decisionmaking to youth across the Commonwealth.<br />

Jared Olson<br />

Jared Olson is a national consultant and trainer specializing in impaired driving, vehicular homicide, and underage<br />

drinking. His instruction includes using social media to investigate and prosecute underage drinking crimes.<br />

His background includes investigating early Internet crimes as a detective for the Weber State University Police<br />

Department. His master’s degree is in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati, and his Juris Doctorate is<br />

from the University of Idaho.<br />

Keith Otto<br />

Lieutenant Keith Ott works for Goose Creek Police Department and in cooperation with the Kennedy Behavioral<br />

Health Services. Part of his duties are to coordinate law enforcement operations with the 9th Circuit AET. He<br />

handles supervisory duties with the Investigative Division at Goose Creek Police Department.<br />
