Emily Simons<br />
Emily Simons is a freshman at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School and has been a member of Youth to Youth for<br />
the past 3 years. Ms. Simons has been active in public speaking on behalf of the group, particularly in assemblies<br />
and presentations provided at local schools.<br />
Jeff Slowikowski<br />
Jeff Slowikowski is the Acting Administrator for the Office of Juvenile Justice Delinquency and Prevention<br />
(OJJDP). He came to OJJDP in August 1990 through the Presidential Management Intern Program and became<br />
a Project Manager in the Research and Program Development Division. Since joining OJJDP, he has managed<br />
several projects, including the development of OJJDP’s Comprehensive Strategy for Serious, Violent, and Chronic<br />
Juvenile Offenders project and Pulling America’s Communities Together, Project PACT. Mr. Slowikowski earned<br />
a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Baltimore in 1987 and a Graduate Certificate in<br />
Police Administration and master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore in 1990.<br />
Prior to joining OJJDP, he was a Graduate Fellow at the Schaefer Center for Public Policy in Baltimore, where he<br />
assisted in the development and preparation of research proposals to Federal, State, and local governments in<br />
the field of social science and public policy.<br />
Matt Smith<br />
Deputy Matt Smith works full-time for the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and part-time for the Phoenix Center<br />
where he serves as the Alcohol <strong>Enforcement</strong> Team Coordinator for the 13th Judicial Circuit. The 13th Circuit<br />
covers Greenville and Pickens Counties in the upstate region of South Carolina. He is one of the key contacts for<br />
underage drinking issues with Furman University and Clemson University.<br />
Shannon Smith<br />
Mr. Shannon Smith is currently the Sheriff of Seminole County of Oklahoma. He works in collaboration with the<br />
Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. Mr. Smith understands the complexity of the Tribal jurisdiction within the Seminole<br />
County.<br />
Tara Smith<br />
As the County Prevention Specialist and Chemical Dependency Treatment Coordinator, Tara works with community<br />
partners and agencies to assess the needs of the county for prevention and treatment programming. Working<br />
with youth ages 6 to 18 and their families from 1993 through 2003 and as the county prevention specialist<br />
for the past 6 years she is passionate about prevention and addressing the multiple risk and protective factors<br />
that influence the success of prevention.<br />
Eric Smoot<br />
Agent Erik Smoot is with the Oklahoma ABLE Commission. He has been a law enforcement officer for 10 years,<br />
the majority of which has been working on efforts to reduce underage drinking. Agent Smoot trains police officers<br />
and communities across the State on alcohol laws and how to conduct activities that have been proven to<br />
reduce underage drinking. The activities include compliance checks and proper party dispersal techniques.<br />
