PRESENTERS<br />
Chrystian Saucedo<br />
Chrystian Saucedo, graduated in May from Torrington High School in Torrington, Wyoming. His leadership qualities<br />
have been evident throughout his life—in athletics, in the school, and in the community. He has been Co-Vice<br />
President and President of the STEP UP Youth Coalition, and he has served on the National UDETC Youth Council<br />
for 3 years. He wants to set an example for his siblings and to challenge young people to make healthy and safe<br />
choices.<br />
Lynette Saucedo<br />
Lynette Saucedo has worked with youth in rural Wyoming for 24 years; she has been in the prevention field for 12<br />
years. Ms. Saucedo is a wife and a mother of seven, and she grew up in Wyoming. She’s passionate about youth<br />
empowerment, and she advocates for civic leadership, accountability, service, education, and achievement. She<br />
firmly believes that prevention takes a community effort to be successful.<br />
Cindy Savoy<br />
Cindy Savoy is the Youth Program Specialist for MADD Louisiana. She has been involved in prevention work<br />
through MADD for almost 10 years. Following graduation, she attended LSU and later began working with MADD.<br />
She enjoys interacting with teens in fun community projects that make positive environmental changes. She<br />
presented workshops at four recent SADD National Conferences and currently serves on the Governor’s Prevention<br />
Systems Committee, the LA <strong>Underage</strong> <strong>Drinking</strong> Task Force, and is a board member on five <strong>Underage</strong> <strong>Drinking</strong><br />
Coalitions across her State.<br />
Steve Schmidt<br />
Steven Schmidt is Sr. Vice President of Public Policy and Communications for the National Alcohol Beverage<br />
Control Association. He oversees the research and development of policy, best practices, and communication<br />
strategies to assist States in managing control and regulatory systems and preventing alcohol-related harm. For<br />
30 years, he has addressed alcohol-related issues at local, State, and national levels. He has also authored several<br />
articles and presented at numerous national and State conferences on a variety of alcohol-related issues.<br />
Brian Shanahan<br />
Brian Shanahan is a Yorktown Police Detective and School Resource Officer.<br />
Mark Shurtleff<br />
Attorney General Mark Shurtleff’s B.S. is from Brigham Young University and his law degree from the University<br />
of Utah College of Law. He has worked as a Judge Advocate General (military attorney), and he worked in private<br />
practice in Utah and California. Previously, he was a Salt Lake County Commissioner where he managed a $100<br />
million budget. Among his numerous awards are the Utah PTA Friend of Children award, the Guardian of the Light<br />
award, and the Sunshine Award.<br />
