on the Executive Board of NLLEA.
Ken Winters
Ken Winters, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Minnesota, Director of the
Center for Adolescent Substance Abuse Research, and a Senior Scientist with the Treatment Research Institute.
His primary research interests are the assessment and treatment of addictions, including adolescent drug abuse
and problem gambling. He is on the editorial boards of two peer-review journals and is the recipient of numerous
research grants from NIH and various foundations.
Mary Beth Wolfe
Mary Beth Wolfe has been an educator, a counselor, and a coordinator of alcohol-focused programs for 30
years. She coordinates trainings, conducts presentations, provides educational materials and technical assistance
on alcohol-related issues to communities, organizations, and professionals nationwide. She is a
coordinator, grants manager, and technical advisor for State and nationally funded grant projects. She created
and coordinates a statewide Law Enforcement Training Team, which presents multiple courses on enforcement
tactics dealing with alcohol-related violations and the law.
Mark Wolfson
Dr. Mark Wolfson is Professor in the Department of Social Sciences and Health Policy at Wake Forest University
School of Medicine. His research centers on two areas: one is on the effects of policies and programs addressing
tobacco, alcohol, and illicit drug use by youth and young adults; and the other involves the interaction of
nonprofit and government organizations in shaping public policy on alcohol, tobacco, and drug use. He is the
Principal Investigator of several studies funded by NIH and NHTSA.
Sally Zellers
Sally Zellers is the Director of the Safe Streets Coalition. She has led the coalition since its inception in 1995.
Ms. Zellers has a diverse background that includes being a Licensed Practical Nurse, working for a local school
district, and volunteering as a neighborhood and community mobilizer. She is a trainer for the Crime Free Multi-
Housing Program. Ms. Zellers also serves as a national trainer for CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of
America).
