<strong>The</strong> course addresses the intensification <strong>of</strong><br />
Globalization during the first decade <strong>of</strong> the 21st<br />
century. It introduces students to contemporary<br />

International Studies Courses<br />
IS101 Introduction to International Studies:<br />
<strong>The</strong> course is designed to help students to<br />
underst<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> critically reflect on issues that<br />
affect both the United States <strong>and</strong> the international<br />
community. <strong>The</strong> issues addressed in this<br />
course are key pieces <strong>of</strong> the larger <strong>and</strong> interrelated<br />
set <strong>of</strong> the international system. (U)(3).<br />
Fall <strong>and</strong> spring.<br />
IS301, Model European Union: This course<br />
introduces the student to the organization <strong>and</strong><br />
functioning <strong>of</strong> the European Union’s institutions<br />
<strong>and</strong> prepares them to participate in the<br />
Midwest Model European Union, which takes<br />
place every April for three days. Prerequisites:<br />
Any 100 level course in the social sciences or<br />
permission <strong>of</strong> the instructor. (U)(1). Spring.
